Guidelines for mMBA-2014-Thrust
Module:
Thrust
Version:14.1
Introduction:
mMBA 2014
Thrust is largely similar to mMBA 2013 Thrust. Although there are few changes
which will help students to discuss Application based questions from Exercises
in classroom itself.
Read the following points carefully to
understand the details:
·
The macro structure is similar to
previous year i.e.
o
Thrust
o
Accelerate
o
Propel
o
mSuccess and
o
CCA/CGB
·
Each Module is a rolling module i.e.
each module is a set of n weeks. Each week will have a certain learning
objective independent to other weeks. Students will be admitted in a module at
the start of any week. After completing
n weeks he will be shifted to next modules. Lets say a module is having 10
week structure. A student who will join the module in week 1 will end at week
10, a student joining in week 2 will study till week 10 and leave the module
after week 1, a student who will join in week 5 will study week 5, week 6 , 7,
.. , 10, 1 ,2.. , week 4 and will be shifted to next module after week 4.
Changes in mMBA-14 Thrust:
·
For the better understanding of
Questions, based on the application of Concept, we have planned to conduct one
session in every week for the discussed two concepts of that week. The basic
aim of these sessions is to solve the Questions based on the application of
concept from Exercise and to make ensure that students on regular basis will
follow their milestones.
·
For Personal Development (PD) related
inputs we have decided to conduct 3 complete weeks in entire Thrust module.
Each PD week must have 1 session of General Awareness, 1 session of Current
Affairs and 1 session on Meet the Mentor. Each PD week must be conducted after
every two months. Conduction of PD week
should happen in the same week for all CAT-14 batches.
·
For General Awareness session and
Current Affairs Operations must club the batches of the same time slot together
and conduct these sessions.
·
For Meet the Mentor session batch wise
conduction should be done. Faculty members who can take Meet the Mentor session
is Directors and mMBA Knowledge Head.
·
Due to addition of 1 session in every
week, overall Thrust duration increased from 51 sessions to 66 sessions.i.e.
from 17 weeks to 25 weeks.
·
Net increase in QA is of 2 weeks(6
sessions), in DILR is of 2 weeks(6 sessions) and in VA is of 1 week.
·
We are doing away with the Subject
specific test. In mMBA-13 we used to conduct 3 test of VA, 2 test each of QA
and DILR.
·
Students can judge their performance by
giving monthly online test-SAT(Self Assessment Test). The frequency of online
test will be 1 test per month. Operations will get a Test Calendar from mMBA
knowledge head. Test Calendar will indicate the Test Start date and Test End
Date.
·
Each Monthly Online test is of 2 hours
duration with 100 Questions and 4 sections(25 QA, 25 DILR, 25 VA and 25 GA/CA)
Regular Features:
·
PCSs will be planned in Thrust, Propel
and GGA/CGB. The point of PCS will be:
o
Three months after a student joins Thrust
o
After TTT in Propel and
o
As per the discretion of CGA/CGB Coordinators
·
Induction modules will be inserted
before some of the modules to handle following issues:
o
In the concept of rolling batch if
there is a need to explain some necessary concepts to the students then those
concepts could be covered in induction module.
o
The material which are distributed only
once i.e. not related to sessions like courseware of thrust, accelerate etc. will be delivered in
induction modules
·
Induction module of mMBA will have a
five session structure.
·
Thrust module of mMBA will have a 25
week structure.
·
Accelerate module of mMBA will be
provided later.
·
Test series will start from May 2014
and run till May 2015. The design of test series will given later
·
Support to sharp batches will remain
like last year (or may be reconsidered in May)
o
Teasers will be planned for sharp
batches.
o
Builders will be planned for Rest of
the batches
·
Structure of mSuccess will have two
parts (not two modules)
o
A 10 days GD Module
o
A 10 days PI Module followed by a mock
interview
·
Structure of CGA and CGB will be
decided later
Structure
of Online SAT: SAT
will be designed at the difficulty level of concepts. Qs, from previous CTs.
SAT will be of 100 Questions in 120 minutes. Structure of SAT will be as
follows:
QA 25 |
DILR 25 |
VA-25 |
GA/CA-25 |
Detailed description
of Induction Module:
Induction IMT: Students joining the course of mMBA 2014 will start their
preparation from the Induction module. Since the larger structure of Thrust is
rolling in nature, the induction module is designed in such a fashion that the
necessary and general thing could be covered initially. The material required
for Thrust as well as Induction will be distributed in the first session of the
Induction module. Following is the distribution of session of intro module.
