Frequently Asked Questions (From Team and Students)

Q-1) how do we define validity of an Library card?

Q-2) what if an ex-student wants to continue library membership?

As per the rules only current students are allowed to become member of library. If an ex-student wants to become library member he/she should get permission form Center Head. Rest of the process is same. Center Head is expected to weigh the need and genuineness of the candidate.

Q-3) If directory & such reference material is lost in any case what should be the fine/replacement?

In such cases a fine of Rs. 500/- should be charged from the student and a request is to be sent to CO for the replacement.

Q-4) Why the fine for late return of books is so high? (It is 10/- at CH and student compare it with colleges where these fines are ranging from 50 paisa to 2 rupees per day.)

Here librarian should explain that aim is not earning money, the fines are kept high so that timely delivery of books can be ensured.

Various Notices : These are the notices which should be pasted on the wall of library and reading room. Centers can change “the timing part” of the notices. Centers should get the print outs on attractive colored sheets and paste these notices.
